Contact Lenses

In the early days of contact lenses, it was incredibly easy to lose them. Barb was no exception. One time, she and I were in a dimly lit nightclub in France and Barb was dancing with a French boy who didn’t speak English. The inevitable happened, and the poor guy didn’t know what was going on when Barb was on her hands and knees on the dance floor! On another occasion, we were queuing up overnight at Covent Garden for tickets to see Nureyev & Fonteyn in Romeo and Juliet. In the dimly-lit street, the queue parted in Biblical style to allow Barb and I, plus an army of volunteers to desperately search for this tiny magic disc of sight. I can’t remember if we found it!
